I make in attempt to hold what's no longer there, to find out if touch can reach across time and meet what's gone.
Working with eyes closed, my left hand explores an object while my right draws what it feels. This is a way of sensing that feels deeper than looking. From these touch drawings I spin, extrude and cast into 3D forms. I use foraged local clays, graphite, brass dust, and charcoal I make myself, burnished until it turns reflective enough to see yourself in the dirt.
