Memorial Vessels
I make vessels for ashes, milk teeth, locks of hair — the small physical traces of those we love.
Each piece is created in conversation with the person commissioning it, shaped by their loss and what they need the object to do.
Milk Teeth holds my daughter's baby teeth — the first vessel I made in this way. Currently in progress: a memorial urn formed from a mother's profile, to carry her ashes to burial and be kept afterward. The profile urn shown here is a prototype for my own.
Each piece begins with a conversation.
